Sophia's nurse-styled sister, built for healthcare in the pandemic and still looking for her ward.
The main field guide selects 14 companion robots for deeper review. This entry belongs to a separate 53-record index that also covers industrial, research, and developer systems.
Grace is Hanson Robotics' healthcare android, unveiled in mid-2021 through Awakening Health, a joint venture with SingularityNET. Dressed as a nurse with the same Frubber expressive skin as Sophia, she was designed for elder care and patient engagement: talking with isolated patients, running through wellness checklists and reading temperatures with a chest thermal camera.
The pandemic-era pitch outpaced deployment. Grace has appeared at care facilities, conferences and trials across Asia, but no sustained commercial care deployment has been documented, and Hanson's chronic funding constraints (chronicled in the 2025 documentary about Sophia) apply to her program too.
Grace remains the most serious attempt to point hyper-realistic androids at care work, and a live test of whether human likeness helps or unsettles in a hospital room.
