Xiaomi's on-again humanoid: quiet for years, back in 2026 with a factory-tested V2 and a bionic hand that sweats.
The main field guide selects 14 companion robots for deeper review. This entry belongs to a separate 53-record index that also covers industrial, research, and developer systems.
CyberOne was Xiaomi's answer to Tesla's Optimus announcement: a 1.77 meter, 52 kilogram humanoid revealed by CEO Lei Jun in August 2022, then barely heard from for years while the company denied mass-production plans. Its estimated build cost at reveal was 600,000 to 700,000 yuan, and it was never sold.
The program resurfaced in April 2026 at Xiaomi's Investor Day with CyberOne V2, which had quietly run automotive assembly pilots in Xiaomi's EV operations, reporting a 90.2 percent success rate on nut-fastening within a 76 second cycle across three-hour runs. V2's debut task, handing out gift bags to investors, signaled a pivot from factory validation toward social and home integration.
Alongside V2, Xiaomi showed a 1:1-scale bionic hand with 22 to 27 degrees of freedom whose 3D-printed internal liquid-cooling channels work like sweat glands to cool its motors, one of the more inventive pieces of hand engineering in the industry.
