By Agility Robotics · United States · announced January 2019
The humanoid with the most real paid work on record: about 75 units and 65,000+ hours across customer sites.
The main field guide selects 14 companion robots for deeper review. This entry belongs to a separate 53-record index that also covers industrial, research, and developer systems.
Digit is the humanoid that skipped the hype cycle and went to work. Agility Robotics' bird-legged biped has been moving totes in customer facilities since 2024, making it the strongest deployment story in the industry: roughly 75 units installed and more than 65,000 hours across nine customer facilities as of mid-2026, under robots-as-a-service contracts with GXO Logistics (running continuously for over a year), Schaeffler's South Carolina plant, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and Mercado Libre.
Agility opened RoboFab in Salem, Oregon in 2023, billed as the world's first humanoid factory, and announced in June 2026 that it will go public via a $2.5 billion SPAC merger (Nasdaq: AGLT expected by end of 2026), the first pure-play US humanoid company to do so. Alongside the listing it detailed Digit v5: swappable hands, roughly 23 kilogram payload and a 'cooperatively safe' design, launching early 2027 with over $300 million in contracted orders.
Digit is not a companion and Agility does not pretend otherwise. It appears in this database because it defines what verified humanoid deployment actually looks like, the benchmark every home-robot claim should be measured against.
